The Origin of The Bead Game

Ever wondered how the Bead Game idea was born?

The whole idea and concept of The Bead Game is inspired by Hermann Hesse's cult novel - The Glass Bead Game. And it's also the inspiration for our initial game pieces - glass beads. Back in 1946 this genius German born Swiss writer received the Nobel Prize in literature. However, with all we know, the game remains a subject of fascinating interest and mythical curiosity.

Futuristic literature can be inspiring and give birth to novel techniques and impact the human evolution. The Bead Game has come this way. The first inception of the Bead Game happened around 7 years ago. It started as a simple idea for a game mechanic where two regular D6 dice act as X and Y coordinates for 6 x 6 game grid (or 3 dice for the 3D space).

Imagine, how much effort does the game idea need to be transmitted globally? In ancient times it took years for a game to travel from one country to another. Today it takes moths or days. But what if it would take just seconds? Thats what the Bead Game is about. Easily communicate your game ideas with the world and have instant feedback. Games Evolve by Variations. Today we are able to make and communicate as many game variations as never before! Let the collective wisdom flow...     

Every single human is creative and just needs the right tools to express it! The Bead Game's overall goal is to inspire players for creativity and sharing. A unified ecosystem for gaming - a place where everyone can share creative ideas and connect with like-minded. The Bead Game Box and web App are instruments for that interaction.
